Velvet Kiss / Diamonds For Hearts out now!

Kicked off 2012 with my first two track EP release today: “Velvet Kiss” and “Diamonds For Hearts”. I decided to release these two under my new alias ToneArts which will focus more on melodic and progressive trance. The EP has already been quite well received by the DJs and public – after Markus Schulz featured it in Global DJ Broadcast and messaged me on Twitter “big new one from one of the emerging talents from past few years”, got many mails from other DJs who requested to get the EP for their own show. Always happy to hear positive feedback so thank you all, who’ve contacted me and supported these two tunes.

Just a quick word about the tracks. “Velvet Kiss” is a newer project which I finished sometime in the end of August last year. The summer was about to end and everything was going great – work, family, friends, girlfriend and so on. I wanted to make “Velvet Kiss” a groovy, driving and summery track that would take me back to all those good moments summer 2011 brought me. I made the bass line strong but subtle, and brought the plucky guitar theme on top of it. Added some pads and vocal effects, and the rising FX sounds to add more of that summery and positive feeling until introducing the main lead sound fully in the breakdown. The ending part that fully unleashes the lead theme is what turned this track into a Velvet Kiss – all those who have laid next to a person with that special sparkle, can imagine that feeling.

“Diamonds For Hearts” is an older project of mine which I begun when I still lived in London. As I’m quite known for my triplet themes in the tech trance genre I wanted to go for something more melodic and beautiful with dreamy vocal cuts. All the mentioned I combined with a strong bass line and the orchestral break down, yet made sure the track remains enough energetic to stay driving and powerful. While working on this track I traveled hours in the overground of London watching the city lights glimmer in the night, pondering how could I capture that slightly romantic, city atmosphere. “Diamonds For Hearts” is the outcome of all this.
